ELEC. 2024 – Make it difficult for anyone to cause violence – Ransford Obeng to EC

Founder and Head Pastor of the Calvary Charismatic Centre Rev. Ransford Obeng has advised the Electoral Commission to be vigilant and circumspect handling matters surrounding the 2024 national elections with a caution that unfairness could trigger needless electoral violence.

Speaking ahead of the Churches annual Spiritual Emphasis program with Rev. Dr Mensah Otabil, the respected clergyman emphasized that the peace in the country needs to be safeguarded at all cost.

He indicated that though Ghanaians are conventionally composed, disgruntled parties could be driven by frustration if they felt unfairly treated by the referee of the election.

“The EC should make sure they have policies that will make it difficult for anybody to do anything that will bring violence. It’s because when you are playing soccer and the referee is not fair to you, it’s very frustrating. We want to encourage them to be as fair as possible: he advised.

Otabil Visits

The annual empowerment session with Rev. Dr. Mensah Otabil, televangelist, founder and head pastor of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) has become a mammoth Kumasi affair drawing people far and near across diverse religious divides to the CCC Ayigya headquarters at the beginning of every year.

It has become a platform where the internationally acclaimed theologian, motivational speaker, preacher man and entrepreneur ignites dreams and lifts people’s spirits to take on each new year with renewed inspiration.

Rev. Mensah Otabil draws from scriptures; his experiences in leadership in academia and industry as well as the deep knowledge he has gleaned in building a thriving worldwide ministry to teach essential life changing sermons in these annual functions.

Inviting the region for the life transforming event, host, Rev. Ransford Obeng pointed out, “we invite my good friend and a great communicator of God’s word every year because we believe when you start the year well, you will be able to finish well.”

“He comes to encourage and give us instructions in the word of God which will help you. No matter the difficulties you will face during the year, you will be well prepared to face the future and succeed,” he encouraged.

The evening sessions are slated to come off on Thursday and Friday the 25th and 26th of January 2024 with a special Church Leadership Seminar scheduled for Saturday morning at the imposing Ayigya Premises of the Calvary Charismatic Centre.

The church in its usual supportive approach is making buses available to convey congregants safely to various destinations across the entire Greater Kumasi.

Heal Komfo Anokye

Meanwhile, Rev. Ransford Obeng used the media engagement to encourage the general public to donate to support the Heal Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital project launched by the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

In collaboration with the management of the Tertiary Referral Hospital, the fund raiser aims at raising US$10million to renovate the 70 year old health facility which caters for the entire middle and northern belt of Ghana with clients travelling in for specialist care from neighboring countries within the West African sub region.

Soliciting support, Rev. Ransford Obeng appealed, “we are encouraging everybody who lives in the Kumasi Metropolis and beyond, to contribute any much they have to renovate the hospital because one day, anyone can find himself there whether voluntarily or by compulsion,”

The audacious initiative forms part of the legacy projects being embarked on by the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II as he marks 25 years of ascending the Golden Stool of the Ashanti Kingdom.
