Seidu Abubakar, alias Mba, arrested and later acquitted in October 2019 over the kidnapping of two Canadian aid workers is accusing key members of the New Patriotic Party including Energy Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh otherwise Napo; of using him as a henchman and later abandoning him.

Apart from the Energy Minister, tipped a favorite to partner Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as running mate for the governing NPP, the embittered Seidu further mentions persons like Chief Executive of the Boris B. Farms and NPP financier Boris Baidoo, Member of parliament for Asante Akyim North Lawyer Andy Appiah Kubi and Former Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator DCOP Opare Addo as part of his pay masters whom he executed dangerous operations for.

Speaking to Ebenezer Yaw Jonah – Osempakani; host of Abusua Adwenkyireh on Abusua 96.5 FM; Seidu lamented in regret that the New Patriotic Party and notable persons like Napo openly disowned him after he was arrested as suspect in the June 4, 2019 kidnapping.

Seidu Mba recounted how he had labored for the New Patriotic Party for the past twenty years putting his life and business concerns on the line to neutralize hostile grounds where the party hither to described as no go areas.

“I was the one who sent the NPP into Aboabo at a time the NPP dared not venture. When we were doing voter registration in Aboabo and other hot spots, ask who stood in and fought for the NPP?” he fumed.

Revealing deep scars on his neck, he disclosed that he had endured same wounds all over his belly because he led a number of bloody onslaughts against some known thugs who always posed threats to the election machinery of the governing NPP within strongholds of the National Democratic Congress in the Ashanti Region.

“Go and ask Boris B. who saved his life at the Anglican Church area at Ash Town? I grabbed hot oil some thugs had lifted to pour on him after he had been beaten up. He was crying for his mother like a baby. At that time Butcher and James had clashed and he got mixed up in the waylay,” he angrily narrated.

“After all these scars, I kept going back to fight for the party because Napo would encourage me to continue steadfastly for the NPP. I know NAPO like my very clothes. He would always tell me because of my love for Asante Kotoko, I should never defect to the NDC.”

Seidu pointed out that he felt scandalized and betrayed when he got news that Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh had ordered his lawyers to refute the NDC’s claims he was associated with NAPO and further called him a criminal and a kidnapper.

“I was scandalized when I heard that he had disowned me when Sammy Gyamfi said I worked for him Napo. When he was calling me in the night to do his bidding, he didn’t know I was a criminal and a kidnapper?” he querried.

He singled out Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyeapong for supporting him and his boys with thousand five hundred dollars when they got badly hurt after clashes in Aboabo and Ashtown.

He however dared Napo to forget when he and Boris B promised to pay them a full amount for medical bills after one of such incidents.

“Napo and Boris B gave us some small money to add up in Ashtown. When we went back to him, we were told NAPO had travelled. We had to collect monies among ourselves to cater for the boy’s medical bills,” he indicated.

“Because of NPP, my boutique was burnt. Because of NPP, my car was burnt,” he sneered.

Giving further accounts of his involvement with the New Patriotic Party, he divulged that the Chief of Kokoso Nana Kwaku Duah had secured his services for the President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo – Addo, now defected presidential hopeful Allan Kyeremanteng and the Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia.

“Go back and look at the pictures of the security detail whenever the president, his vice and Allan Kyeremanteng came to the region to campaign. Ask Nana Addo and Bawumia’s bodyguards if I was not ever introduced to them,” he dared.

Seized Property

Seidu Abubakar also pointed out that the party has refused to help him retrieve his property which remains unfound after he was picked up by National Security Operatives from his private residence at Sepe.

He stated that at the time of his arrest, he had US$6,500; over GHc430,000 cedi worth of items he had bought from Tudu for his boutique and a Range Rover SUV which had not been delivered to him.

He said the only money he had received was a thousand dollars he obtained from a commissioner of police whose name he gave as Apenteng.

He expressed worry, all his pay masters had now gone into hiding and avoiding him after sending countless messages and threats.

“It was Boris B, who went to speak to the late chief of Offinso to beg me to keep patient while he worked towards helping to retrieve my seized items,” he noted.

Resignation and Apology to JDM

With a remorseful tone, Seidu Mba disclosed he had resigned himself from the New Patriotic Party after serving the party for the past twenty years.

“I am not part of the party anymore. I have worked for NPP for 20 years. And I will advise our youth to follow political parties with their heads. See how they used and dumped me,” he warned.

In a rather surprising turn of events, Seidu begun apologizing to the flagbearer of the NDC, John Dramani Mahama for wrongs he claims to have done against him and his NDC over the years, on the advice of his political abettors.

“I have committed a lot of wrong against John Dramani Mahama. If I meet him, I will go on my knees to beg him for forgiveness. I was blinded but now I can see clearly.”

Seidu indicated he was ready to disclose propaganda spins orchestrated by the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Party Bernard Antwi Boasiako Wontumi and his camp against the character and person of John Dramani Mahama.

Seidu stated that while he now remained unaligned to any political party, he had not yet turned his back on politics but would not readily declare his next line of action.
